Upload an SDS document
Last updated 1 Jul 2026
Every risk assessment in Safe Foundry starts from a supplier Safety Data Sheet (SDS). Upload the PDF and our AI reads the hazard, composition and handling sections for you — no manual data entry.
Upload a document
- On the home screen, tap New risk assessment.
- Choose Upload SDS, then select a PDF from your files, email attachments or cloud storage.
- Wait a few seconds while we extract the hazard data — you'll see a progress indicator.
- Review the extracted hazards, then tap Generate assessment.
What we read from the sheet
- Product identifiers and supplier details
- Signal word, hazard (H) and precautionary (P) statements
- GHS pictograms and physical state
- Workplace exposure limits (WELs) where listed
Each upload uses credits
Extracting and assessing one SDS uses AI credits from your monthly allowance. See How AI credits work for current rates and top-up packs.
Use the supplier's most recent SDS. Sheets are reissued when a substance is reclassified, and an out-of-date sheet can produce the wrong H-codes.
